Naira Noor was born in 1950 in Guwahati, Assam. His father was a businessman and in connection with his business, he moved with his family from Amritsar and settled in Assam. After the India-Pakistan partition, in 1957, Naira Noor along with her siblings and mother migrated from India and settled in Lahore, Pakistan. Although his father stayed in India (Assam) till 1993 to handle his business and movable and immovable property.

As a child, Naira Noor was influenced by Bhajan singer Kanan Devi and Ghazal singer Begum Akhtar. In 1971, Naira Noor got the opportunity to sing for the first time on Pakistani television. She then made her playback singing debut in the films ‘Gharana’ (1973) and ‘Tansen’. Nayyara has lent her vocals on stage to ghazals written by Urdu poet Ghalib and Faiz Ahmed Faiz in her solo vocals. Naira Noor has received three gold medals at the national level convention in Pakistan for her quality singing. Along with this, he has also been awarded the Nigar Award of Pakistan for the film Gharana (1973).
